New London Architecture

3Space International House Brixton

Built

London's largest affordable workspace opened in Brixton in 2018. A home for entrepreneurs unlike any other - facilitated by our BuyGiveWork initiative where space is given away when space is bought.

The project addresses two specific local related challenges. The first is to move Brixton’s economy away from an overreliance on retail and introduce new Creative and Digital Industries companies to the area. The second, to protect existing vital town centre uses that contribute so valuably to the identity of the area and make it the place that it is. Young people, third sector and cultural organisations are all at risk of being priced out as Brixton changes and rents increase.

The 70,000 sq ft 12 storey International House remains in Council ownership and has been earmarked for redevelopment after 5 years as part of the Brixton Central Masterplan. 3Space’s interim activity will play a part in informing these future regeneration plans. 3Space have implemented their BuyGiveWork initiative whereby for every space sold, one is given away rent free with a focus on supporting young people, artists and makers and local non-profits.
