A Victorian terrace is transformed, creating an atmospheric interior without excessively impacting on the property’s footprint and thus retaining much of the original garden.

The family of four who owns this two-bedroom Victorian terrace in Stoke Newington had returned to London after living abroad for a number of years.  They required a long-term family home, that responded to their current situation, but could accommodate changing needs as their children grow.

Russian For Fish proposed a multi-layered extension in zinc, increasing space without excessively impacting on the property’s footprint or garden. The offset pitched roof of the wrap-around extension creates a sense of drama as one moves through the house towards the garden.
