Origami House

Built

A unique one bedroom, open-plan family annexe formed of an extraordinary cross laminated timber folded plate 'Origami' structure. An energy efficient dwelling in the rear garden of a listed house.

Shortlisted in Don't Move, Improve! 2021

The sculptural Origami geometry was inspired by the retained irregular foundation footprint of a previous garden studio, which the new building replaces. This highly sustainable, self-contained dwelling provides not only a starter home for adult children, but space for visiting family, those who are shielding and working from home during Covid19 lockdowns.
