Shortlisted in the WORKING category
Parkside is a new headquarters building for Imperial War Museums providing a new central hub workspace for staff working across all five of their museums. The new building is sited within a conservation area and shares a boundary with the Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park where IWM London stands. The project is not recognisable as offsite modular construction, meeting the challenge of this sensitive context, through well-considered proportions and fine detailing. Off-site construction was considered from the outset of the project due to the short timescales and challenging tight site location.
