NEW LONDON AWARDS 2022

NEW LONDON AWARDS 2022

Shortlisted in the WORKPLACE category and for the ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY PRIZE

Marek Wojciechowski Architects (MWA) were appointed to prepare proposals to redevelop the land to the rear of 1-3 Britannia Street, a historic warehouse in the London Borough of Camden. Plantworks, a former mirror workshop, is a pioneering workspace built with integrated urban planting and designed to nurture wellbeing.

MWA have delivered an attractive, modern and sustainable commercial development with a low environmental impact - office workspace that is exemplar in enriching the user experience whilst placing sustainability at the forefront of design. The striking development will safeguard the site for employment use and deliver a high-quality design that draws on the heritage of the area.

Plantworks’ design was driven by a sustainable approach, integrated with architecture that referenced the light industrial history of the site. This led to a material selection of exposed steelwork, polished concrete and aluminium framed-glazing alongside a rich and vibrant planting scheme.

Vote for this project in the ‘People’s Choice Award’. The voting deadline is 1 November 2022.
