Each of the four two-bed homes can return surplus energy back to the grid. Utilising individual air source heat pumps and solar panels, the homes can be heated on as little as £1-a-day. Digital design tools including BIM allowed ilke Homes’ designers and engineers to create ‘digital twins’ of the homes, before they were manufactured at ilke’s factory in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.
