Seats at the Table, Courtesy of Re-Fabricate and the DisOrdinary Architecture Project. Photography by Luke O'Donovan
Temporary installation delivered during LFA2023 in Postman's Park to explore inclusive design, equity and public spaces as well as the involvement of under-represent.
Community engagement was totally integrated in the decision making of the project at all stages of its development, through the centering of co-design processes; and this was reflected in the Seats as the Table installation and associated activities delivered in Postman’s Park. Members of under-represented groups were at the fore throughout, not just through consultation and feedback but by having equal involvement in designing and making. Both DisOrdinary Architecture and ReFabricate have considerable expertise in facilitating experiential workshops that enable an equality of action and discussion, so that everyone’s voices are heard.
