A compact yet playful flat designed for a young family incorporating a series of bespoke objects to cater for each of the individual users from functional to the playful.

After living in this maisonette for 15 years, the client wanted to improve the house to meet a growing family’s needs. Due to space constraints, we maximised existing areas within a tight budget.

A new roof light with a brightly coloured bespoke metal shelf pivots to become a ladder, offering an escape to the roof. We added a slide tailored to the steps to engage the children; a bespoke bunk bed was installed to make the existing stair safe. A circular opening allows views from the kitchen, and a rear terrace oasis allows for outdoor activities whilst adding storage space.
