The Centre for Awareness and Response to End of Life radically expands St Christopher’s ability to disseminate best practice in end of life care both locally and globally. CARE’s assembly of teaching and meeting rooms around a light and lively foyer among beautiful gardens is a focus for the local community. It creates a permeable, egalitarian and hospitable space open to all who wish to engage in vital conversations about living with dying. With fully equipped audio-visual and virtual conferencing facilities, the offer of practical, emotional, spiritual and social support and skills training reaches audiences in care settings worldwide.

CARE is a new addition to the hospice campus in Sydenham where palliative care has been pioneered since the 1960s. Replacing the former education centre, the new facility brings wisdom and learning about end of life closer to its day to day practice in the Inpatient Unit and community nursing team hubs housed in the main hospice building.
