Highly commended in the COMMUNITY PRIZE
This project for St Mary’s Church, Walthamstow enables the Church community to plan for the future of their historic site, in the heart of Walthamstow village. The scheme includes sensitive works to the Grade II* listed Church itself, the refurbishment of the historic facade of St Mary’s Welcome Centre, and a new extension to unlock the churches full potential as a vibrant community and events venue and place of worship. The extension also provides eleven affordable homes, and the construction of a new building accomodates a Nursery, a community hall and three further homes, and public realm improvements.
