Shortlisted in the PLACEMAKING Category

In collaboration with key local stakeholders, an unused and neglected area of land at the edge of Stoneydown Park has been transformed into a local asset for residents and wildlife.

A new perimeter fence with native hedging extends the existing park to the edge of Blackhorse Road while a new meadow creates a natural play space with informal seating that offers outside learning space for local schools. The public realm along Blackhorse Road has been refined with new surfacing, wayfinding, trees and seating creating a clearly defined pedestrian zone and a safe, welcoming entrance to the park.

Vote for this project in the 'People's Choice award. The voting deadline is 1 November 2021.
