Constructed sustainably, from cross-laminated timber, the new park pavilion named ‘The Tree House’ is the centrepiece of a brand-new two-acre park in London’s zone one. The park is the heart of Elephant Park, a £2.3 billion regeneration scheme delivered by Lendlease, which will create 3,000 new homes and establish new public green spaces for the neighbourhood.

Trees are integral to the design of The Tree House, with 128 mature trees retained from the site’s previous use. To celebrate their importance, the pavilion encircles a mature London Plane tree and incorporates a café kiosk, public washroom facilities, a multi-functional internal space for use by the local community and a public roof terrace, taking visitors up into the tree canopy and offering an elevated perspective across the adjacent park. The pavilion enriches the experience of the park – offering opportunities to rest under the shade of the dense tree canopy or socialise over a coffee.
