Timber Square

Built

The UK’s largest cross-laminated timber (CLT) mixed-use development by volume and the country’s tallest hybrid timber and steel frame scheme with two workplace buildings; retrofit and new build.

Timber Square will be a net zero carbon development with aims to be the largest commercial development in the UK to use cross-laminated timber (CLT).
The ambitious project demonstrates how such buildings can respond to the climate emergency and industry net zero carbon targets for both construction and operation.
Set on the site of a former timber storage yard and latterly a printworks which is partially retained, the scheme aims to honour SE1’s rich industrial heritage.

Shortlisted in the Workplace category

A hybrid timber redevelopment addressing both construction and operational carbon emissions. Timber Square will be an extended 1950's printworks and a 15-storey new build celebrating construction.

Vote for this project in the People's Choice Award. The deadline for voting is the 8th October, 23:45pm.
