This light-filled terrace extension is topped with a sculptural zig-zag roof. Designed with flexibility in mind, this space can adapt to suit the client’s changing family needs throughout the years.

Featured in Don't Move, Improve! 2021

A sculptural zig-zag roof form derived from the sloping roof angles of the existing property tops the extension to this Victorian terrace. Exposed timber rafters below the zig-zag roof create a dynamic surface that adds warmth to the interior and defines a dining area below.

A collaborative approach between neighbours allowed both parties to benefit from greater height at the back of their extensions, creating an unexpected, soaring, light filled pocket above a children’s play area.
