For the last three and a half years Raju has been the Director of Land Use for the New York City Council advising the Speaker and Council Members on a range of planning issues including citywide affordable housing policy, industrial policy, and neighborhood plans from Midtown to East Harlem to East New York.

The City Council has the final vote on many large scale planning decisions in NYC.  

Prior to his work at the City Council he was the Director of Planning at the Municipal Art Society - an urban planning non-profit - a Community Board member, and a planner at the NYC Department of City Planning.
