Public spaces are an important measure for the success and wellbeing of cities, improving mental and physical wellness and providing accessible amenities for all. However, who are these spaces designed for and what role does gender play in their development?

Public spaces for young women and girls are less visible compared to the myriad of multi-use games areas such as skate parks and sports pitches that take up a significant place across our public realm. How can public spaces cater for the needs of different gender groups, and what can the industry do to make public spaces safer and more inclusive?

In this webinar, we explore how women are advocating for change and influencing planning processes to turn our public spaces into accessible, safe and multifaceted environments.

From initiatives with local communities, planning consultations, workshops and thought-leadership, we will hear about the projects that are empowering women’s voices in shaping the future of our open spaces.
