Cllr Louise Krupski

Deputy Mayor

London Borough of Lewisham

Cllr Louise Krupski
Cllr Louise Krupski was first elected as a Labour ward councillor in 2018 in Lewisham.  She quickly demonstrated her passion for environmental issues by seconding the council’s motion to declare a climate emergency (Lewisham was one of the first boroughs in the country to do so) and directly push to divest the council’s pension scheme from fossil fuels.  She was appointed by the then mayor Damien Egan, as the council’s Air Quality Champion and worked tirelessly in this role to demonstrate the borough’s commitment to improving air quality.  From there she was elected as the Sustainable Development Committee Chair and was brought into cabinet as the lead for Environment, Transport and Climate Action in 2022.  Earlier this year, with the successful election of Brenda Dacres as mayor of Lewisham, Louise was appointed by Mayor Dacres as her Deputy.  Louise is keen to use this position to further the exciting programme of work happening in the borough to improve Lewisham’s transport networks, be that active travel, safety on the roads or public transport.  She has been a strong advocate of the extension of the Bakerloo Line throughout her political career and looks forward to a future where South East London can reap the benefits of being connected to the underground network.
