Mark was elected to Southwark Council in March 2011 representing Brunswick Park Ward in Camberwell. 

He previously chaired the Health & Adult Social Care Scrutiny committee and was the deputy cabinet member for the private rented sector. Mark is responsible for the sustainable regeneration of Southwark’s neighbourhoods and for delivering Southwark’s commitment to build new homes of every kind including 11,000 new council homes. Mark graduated from Birmingham University and has worked as a civil servant in central government and for the London Assembly.
