Denise Chevin
Denise Chevin has 30 years’ experience as a journalist, editor and commentator in housing, construction, architecture, sustainability and technology. Her roles have included editing Building Magazine and before that the social housing magazine, Housing Today. More recently she edited and redesigned Construction Manager, edited Infrastucture-intelligence.com, and was consultant editor at Construction News.  Denise has authored numerous reports and books from a diverse range of organisations and parliamentary groups – including the Smith Institute, the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Excellence in the Built Environment, including its work successfully championing a New Homes Ombudsman, the NLA, the Housing Forum and Utility Week. She has been working closely with the Construction Industry Council on the industry response to Grenfell, including helping to write the Competence Steering Group’s report on improving the competence of those working on high rise buildings, Setting the Bar. She was awarded an MBE for services to the Built Environment in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2022.
