Gareth is an Area Manager at Tower Hamlets and worked for the Borough since 2014.  During that time he been involved in numerous strategic planning applications, major urban centre regeneration schemes as well as redevelopment proposals that have attracted a lot of public attention including Whitechapel Bell Foundry, Whitechapel Sainsburys, the Royal Mint site and high profile schemes involving the LGBT+ Joiners Arms venue on Hackney Road, The Backstreet gay club at Mile End and The George Tavern grassroots music venue in Stepney.
 
He led in negotiations securing a s106 legal obligation that gave a First Right of Refusal for the replacement late night pub to be operated by an LGBT+ Operator.  The first such obligation of its kind in the UK  and he subsequently led in securing a financial obligation for provision of a meanwhile use LGBT+ venue for Friends of Joiners Arms, during the construction phase.
