Niel Farrnace
Neil has worked in private practice for over 35 years, since graduating from Canterbury School of Architecture. He joined Formation Architects in 1991, following a merger with the Ley Colbeck Partnership, where he had been responsible for a variety of specialist areas of design and construction, including comprehensive commercial leisure developments, high rise city offices and high security prisons.
 
Since joining Formation Architects, Neil has worked on a wide range of building types across many sectors. Major assignments have included 134 new build luxury apartments in Kensington; a high rise development of 350 apartments overlooking the River Thames in Greenwich; master planning for a mixed use development comprising 830 dwellings in Crawley; master planning for a number of mixed use developments in Romania; the Langham Hotel; the restoration and conversion of a Grade II* listed building in Park Lane to create a single family house; the luxury residential redevelopment of the Glebe School in Chelsea; the residential conversion of the former power station at Lots Road, Chelsea and the delivery of a new hotel and cycle park in Cambridge.
 
Recent projects include the delivery of 600 dwellings as part of a high rise, mixed use development on the former gas works site at Oval, and a planning application for a mixed-use development, including 1,400 dwellings on the former gas works site in Southall. 
 

Neil played a key role in the practice’s transition to Employee Ownership and is responsible for commercial aspects of all projects and the overall performance and development of the practice.
