Rob is an expert in healthy food environments and their contribution to public health, sustainability and place-based wellbeing. His work focuses on understanding how places, local economies and food systems influence physical health, mental wellbeing, social equity and environmental outcomes.

He is particularly interested in how the design and management of places can support healthier lifestyles, reduce health inequalities and create thriving communities. He advises businesses, charities, public sector organisations and places on creating healthier, more sustainable and resilient communities. 

His commercial consulting experience includes business improvement, operational efficiency, digital transformation and sustainability projects for consumer brands and food manufacturers including Pret A Manger, GAIL's Bakery and The Bread Factory. Alongside this, he has led research, policy development, impact evaluation and strategic planning assignments for organisations such as The Food Foundation, The Soil Association, City Harvest London and The Felix Project.
