Rory has been at Assael for ten years, leading on some of the practice’s key Build to Rent projects, including the award-winning Union Wharf in Greenwich for Essential Living, and Blackhorse Mills in Walthamstow for Legal & General. Rory also heads up Assael’s sustainability group and ‘green’ practices, their research and expertise in offsite construction solutions, including modular design, and their design strategies for purpose-built developments and communities for later living, particularly those in town centres. Using this research, Rory is advocating intergenerational living in various forms with the aim to help bring about a new openness and reintegration in housing solutions for older people.
