Tal Ben-Amar is a founding partner of Pilbrow & Partners, a London-based architecture and urban design studio. Tal works across numerous sectors and project types and has extensive experience in planning, design, construction detailing and the delivery of buildings.
Much of Pilbrow & Partners’ work is set within sensitive, heritage contexts and Tal has special interest in working in such environments. Creating interventions within existing frameworks to transform content across multiple levels, Tal draws upon experience gained both in the UK and overseas to resolve complex planning challenges with imagination and integrity.
Tal led the retrofit of The Kensington Building, London. Formerly Pontings Department Store, the 1970s office has been transformed and now delivers a mix of BREEAM Excellent and WELL Standard Gold workspace and includes a new link to Kensington High Street Underground Station via a reinterpreted retail arcade. The people-centred design also incorporates a verdant roof terrace, promoting bio-diversity and enhancing work-life wellbeing.
Tal received his Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, Israel, his Master in Urban Design from the London School of Economics and his Professional Diploma from London Metropolitan University.
