Breaking Down Bias

Talk

Tuesday 13 October 2020
10:00 - 11:00

In this webinar we hear from industry leaders who have broken down the barriers of bias and share their experience and achievements to help create a more inclusive industry.
Bias can be a barrier in the workplace that not only prevents people from effectively working together but can directly impact the diversity of the hiring process and the retention rates. The built environment industry is chronically suffering from a lack of diversity and inclusion, which in turn has a detrimental impact on business itself.

Diversity is an asset to any organisation, with a diverse workforce a business can expect diverse and dynamic solutions and outputs, appealing to broader audiences and ultimately becoming a more successful and profitable business. A McKinsey & Company global study from 2015 found that ethnically diverse companies are 35% more likely to have financial returns above national industry medians and gender diverse companies are 15% more likely to do the same.

In this webinar we hear from industry leaders who have broken down the barriers of bias and share their experience and achievements to help create a more inclusive industry.
