Launch of London Design Capital, unveiling the key findings and updates from the research, and hear responses from industry experts.
Launching NLA’s latest digital research paper London Design Capital – Recovery and London’s role as a global design hub, we look at the recovery of London from Brexit and Covid-19 and the global reach of London’s skilled workforce in architectural design, engineering, construction, placemaking and consultancy expertise. Exploring the opportunities being created for London based teams internationally and the role of culture in sustaining London as a global design hub.
Following on from NLA’s 2017 research ‘London: Design Capital’ and four years on, six months from the UK’s departure from the EU and over a year into the pandemic, we revisit this research to understand London’s position on the global stage now. We update on the key recommendations made to city and national leadership, and what we need now to ensure London’s position as a global design hub. How have these recommendations informed our response to Brexit and the pandemic? How have recent factors impacted on London’s ability to export skills and services internationally?
Join the launch of London Design Capital, to hear from key speakers Asif Khan MBE, Annelie Kvick Thompson and Philip Breese about their experiences and insights working internationally in the current climate and discuss London’s position as a global design hub.
