This is a invitation only round table bringing together senior built environment leaders.
Earlier this year, BBC News reported that more than half of homes in the UK are at risk of overheating, with this figure potentially rising to 92% by 2050 if we do not adapt to a warming planet.
Addressing this global challenge requires collective action to transform how we design, construct, and operate low-energy, high-performing buildings. With their prioritisation of high levels of insulation, airtightness, and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, Passivhaus design principles could play a critical role in significantly reducing operational carbon, improving occupant comfort and health and meeting Net Zero targets.
While Passivhaus is often associated with low-rise developments and single dwellings, it is equally applicable at scale. In 2024, AHMM delivered urbanest Battersea, the largest built Passivhaus-certified building in Europe and the eighth largest in the world at the time of certification.
This roundtable discussion, organised and hosted by AHMM, brings together members of the urbanest Battersea design and delivery team alongside other built environment specialists to explore the challenges and opportunities of implementing Passivhaus's rigorous principles at scale in the capital and beyond.
