Working together: collaborative regeneration

Talk

Thursday 31 March 2022
10:00 - 11:00

In this webinar we explore projects that work together with the community to create meaningful new places.
Working with the community in the process of regeneration is vital to creating high quality, meaningful places, while providing local people with the opportunity to actively engage with their local area and lead on the future of their neighbourhood. There is much to learn from residents and local businesses that can inform and shape development and create a more inclusive urban environment. It is crucial this process is carried out with a diverse range of local people and is not done to them, to avoid displacement and division.

In this webinar we explore projects that work together with the community to create meaningful new places. What are the diverse and nuanced approaches to community engagement and how is collaboration key to the project? How do you avoid displacing local people through the process of regeneration? How do you create opportunities for interaction and engagement that benefits people’s lives? What are the social, environmental, and economic values of the project to the community?
