NLA has transformed Store Street's South Crescent into a pop-up 'pocket' park for one week from Friday 25 June - Saturday 3 July as part of the Love Your Street programme of the London Festival of Architecture.
The park has been designed by Moxon Architects and incorporates temporary structures by local engineers Price & Myers and Ramboll as well as temporary planting from Pocket Habitat. An outdoor exhibition tells the story of Store Street, drawing on the history of the street and the ambition its various stakeholders have for it, including the City of London, LB Camden, The Bedford Estate and Gardiner & Theobald.
A week-long programme of free public events include morning and afternoon tai chi, lunchtime 'soapbox talks' in Price & Myer's Hy-Pavilion, weekend theatre from RADA, dance workshops, ad hoc picnics and Ramboll's Carbon Cube which invites the public to pledge to reduce their carbon footprints.
