Save the Date: HD5K is on May 16th
This year’s HD5K will be on May 16th. We're really looking forward to another edition of our charity event – the highlight of our fundraising year at Hayes Davidson.
Our founder Alan Davidson, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in 2012, aged just 52. He helped establish this run in 2018, and the event has since become a fitting legacy for his life and passions, raising more than £300,000 since its inception to help support those who suffer from MND and associated neurological conditions. The
Alan Davidson Foundation, founded by Alan in 2015, also matches the funds raised by HD5K runners.
Every year we are surprised and delighted by the support that the event has. There is nothing quite like the sight of architects, developers and designers racing around London’s Hyde Park on a warm spring evening in our annual run to raise funds and awareness for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
We’d love this year to be our biggest turnout ever, so do please consider joining us this year. In addition to fund-raising, HD5K offers a great opportunity for internal team building, networking and well-being. This year our runners will start and finish at the bandstand in Hyde Park, passing by the edge of the beautiful Serpentine Lake. And as always we will be coming back to our studio afterwards to celebrate together for the awards presentation, along with food, drinks and music!
We celebrate the fastest runners and the biggest fundraisers, with prizes donated by some wonderful sponsors (including Ali Tomlin Ceramic, NLA, LREF and others), but HD5K really is about participating – coming together as an industry around a spirited endeavour to test yourself, have some fun and help raise essential funding and awareness in the fight against MND.
Places are limited but it’s not too late to register if you’d like to take part. Just £300 will secure three places for runners from your team. Please click
here to register your interest or get in touch directly at hd5k@hayesdavidson.com. And you can enjoy highlights of last year's event
here.
If you can’t join us but you’d still like to make a difference, you can make a donation
here. We would also appreciate it if you could share the
HD5K campaign link to help spread the word via social media!
We really value your support and generosity, and hope to see as many of you as possible on May 16th. Big thanks from the team at Hayes Davidson
Why support The Motor Neurone Disease Association?
The MND Association does amazing work, supporting care and research into a complex, brutal and currently still incurable disease. Raising funding and awareness is essential to help support sufferers and their families, and to continue to fund research. In 2022 the charity was able to provide 2,050 support grants and 32 new research grants. It has also been able to provide communication equipment and voice banking technology to help sufferers stay connected and independent for as long as possible. The MND Association also runs a helpline, last year responding to over 9000 calls, and a Benefits service which has helped people access over £2.2 million of unclaimed benefits.
