London Borough of Wandsworth

Over the last 20 years or more Wandsworth borough’s economy has been transformed.

Now it is one of the most prosperous London boroughs. It has high rates of business formation, relatively high levels of employment and well qualified, skilled residents.

Several major developments are planned for Wandsworth Town Centre, Clapham Junction and Nine Elms, there are regeneration plans for Roehampton and investment and development opportunities in Putney, Balham and Tooting. The Borough’s economy is diverse with a thriving and creative small business economy. The US Embassy and the Royal College of Art have decided to locate and invest and the Nine Elms area is attracting considerable investment interest. The New Covent Garden Market, on a 57 acre site, has now been given the go ahead to prepare redevelopment plans.
