Hale Village

Built

Hale Village has been the catalyst to transform an area of low-grade industrial land into one of London’s most successful urban settlements in north London.

Hale Village has been the catalyst to transform an area of low-grade industrial land into one of London’s most successful urban settlements. The village is largely residential, with a mixture of tenures and uses that includes a health centre and community space. The urban form is defined by an attractive network of largely traffic free streets, play areas and well managed open spaces which connect directly with the footways of the Lee Valley and with Tottenham Hale’s transport hub.

This project is featured alongside our Public London: Activating the City insight study. The publication, exhibition and online project directory explore what constitutes a successful and democratic public realm today, the role of co‑creation and partnerships, and how we can ensure that places are fit‑for‑purpose in the long term.
