Twyford Abbey

Planning Granted

The Twyford Abbey Masterplan saves & sympathetically restores a derelict Grade II-listed manor house & original walled garden on Historic England’s Heritage at Risk Register in Ealing.

The Twyford Abbey Masterplan saves and sympathetically restores a derelict Grade II-listed manor house and original walled garden on Historic England’s Heritage at Risk Register in Ealing, west London. The abbey’s historic grounds will be opened up to the public for the first time since the Alexian Brotherhood vacated the Twyford Abbey in 1987, improving connectivity with the canal and wider area along with a new 1.2-acre public park complete with children’s play facilities.

This project is featured alongside our Public London: Activating the City insight study. The publication, exhibition and online project directory explore what constitutes a successful and democratic public realm today, the role of co‑creation and partnerships, and how we can ensure that places are fit‑for‑purpose in the long term.
