Watford Parade

Built

The Watford Parade scheme has created a new 2,000-person capacity event space with striking features. The project transforms the area into a key civic space.

The Watford Parade scheme has created a new 2,000-person capacity event space, transforming the area into a key civic space. It incorporates integrated lighting with bold black and white paving and raised grass seating areas to create a striking outdoor destination. The historic pond, a feature for over 100 years, has been enhanced through improved water quality and ecological value, stepped access, decked areas and outdoor dining adjacent to the water’s edge.

This project is featured alongside our Public London: Activating the City insight study. The publication, exhibition and online project directory explore what constitutes a successful and democratic public realm today, the role of co‑creation and partnerships, and how we can ensure that places are fit‑for‑purpose in the long term.
