Westminster Green Spine

Built

Westminster Green Spine is a new linear park that creates a pedestrian focused route running north-south through the Church Street area in central London.

Completed in 2022, the Green Spine is a linear park that creates a pedestrian focused route running north-south through the Church Street area of Westminster. The ambition for this scheme was to reinvigorate the neighbourhood with a new park and pedestrian routes for the community to enjoy for many years ahead. The streetscape has been redesigned to balance nature and people by creating a series of high-quality green spaces that are safe, accessible and inviting.

This project is featured alongside our Public London: Activating the City insight study. The publication, exhibition and online project directory explore what constitutes a successful and democratic public realm today, the role of co‑creation and partnerships, and how we can ensure that places are fit‑for‑purpose in the long term.
