The NLA Royal Docks Programme includes monthly curator-led model and exhibition talks on the second Friday of each month from 12:30 – 13:00 at The Crystal building around our 1:1000 scale model of the Royal Docks and surrounding area.
Once London’s gateway to the world, today this vast area in the London Borough of Newham is one of the UK’s most important regeneration stories. It is re-emerging as a commercial and cultural hub of global significance. A new chapter in the history of the Royal Docks is underway, with total investment in the area likely to reach £8 billion over the next 20 years.
The programme of talks will cover the physical model and take a look at the past, present and future of the Royal docks, focussing on key themes that make this area unique to London.
