Fifteen years of unparalleled access to the global real estate sector has enabled the studio to achieve its reputation as the world’s leading placemaking agency. Futurecity’s strategic efforts have facilitated distinct identities and destinations for prestigious commercial, mixed-use, retail, and residential developments.
The studio persistently pushes boundaries of art practice, by exploring bold new ideas and challenging the status quo. Mark Davy – Founder of Futurecity describes their portfolio as a ‘gallery without walls’.
WHY WE JOINED
For 15 years Futurecity has promoted the importance of culture as a driving narrative across the real estate sector, from Build to Rent and Business Investment Districts to Residential, Retail, and Creative Districts. We joined the NLA with a Culture led Placemaking event in 2014. In 2018 we published a manifesto as part of our NLA exhibition promoting the digital and immersive arts in architecture, landscape, and infrastructure. In 2023 we have re-joined the NLA at a time of upheaval and societal change, where more than ever culture provides ‘software not hardware’ and acts as a catalyst, lens and narrator.
