We've expanded our public programme with a new series of interactive walking tours and model talks that offer visitors a fresh, engaging way to explore London’s architecture, history, and culture.

Building on the success of our existing tours and model talks, this new series invites Londoners and visitors alike to explore the stories behind the city’s buildings, streets, and communities. Topics range from the transformation of Brixton and queer history to tall buildings and the legacy of slavery in the city, led by expert guides who bring these narratives to life.

“We’re excited to launch these new events, which are all about uncovering the stories behind London’s iconic buildings, streets, and communities,” said Federico Ortiz, Head of Programme at NLA. “It’s a chance to explore parts of London that are often overlooked and hear from the experts who know them best.”

Our walking tours, a staple since 2017, now include new themes such as Queer History with Mark T. Cox, Brixton’s Black History with Angela Morgan, Tall Buildings with Gayle McKeen, and Slavery in the City with Sarah Brierley.

Free model talks take place every Friday at The London Centre in the West Wing of Guildhall, home to two large-scale models of London. These sessions use the models to explore key themes shaping the city, including upcoming talks on The Legacy of the Great Plague with Guildhall Library and London's South Asian History in Seven Sites with Krish Nathaniel.

Whether you're a curious local or visiting for the first time, these events offer a unique opportunity to rediscover the capital and see it from a new perspective.
