New London Architecture

Retrofit & Conservation

Celebrating London’s unique mix of old and new

London's rich history is reflected in its diverse architecture, from Roman and Medieval to Art Deco and Brutalist styles, telling the story of its 2,000-year development. The city continues to evolve while preserving its historical landmarks, offering a blend of old and new that defines its character.

The NLA Conservation programme brings together conservation professionals, institutions, and local authorities to address challenges faced by London's historic buildings. It explores opportunities to rethink the function of these buildings and focuses on preserving and adapting existing structures in response to the climate emergency. Through this year-round programme, best practices are shared to protect London’s heritage while ensuring it remains relevant for the future.
