NLA has convened the new
NLA Sounding Board, welcoming members to their first meeting of 2026 at The London Centre.
Established in 2011, the NLA Sounding Board brings together the most senior urban leaders to provide a leading cross-disciplinary voice on the key issues affecting London and the built environment. Sitting at the highest level of NLA’s structure, the Board acts as the arbitrator of the
New London Agenda, NLA’s multi-year framework setting a vision for the future of London and identifying the priority issues and solutions for the capital’s next political term.
Chaired by Sadie Morgan, the Sounding Board plays a central role in taking soundings on ideas and evidence for the New London Agenda, with input from NLA’s wider network of Committees, Expert Panels and guest contributors. Together, these groups form a multi-disciplinary network of over 300 industry professionals and community leaders helping to drive NLA’s work, inform policy and produce thought leadership.
The meeting opened with a fabulous moment from
Lucy Musgrave OBE Cartwheel for a Cure with a celebratory cartwheel. Following treatment for Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML), Lucy began doing a cartwheel each day to celebrate recovery and is now encouraging others to take part in the national campaign, which aims to raise £200,000 to fund research into kinder, more effective AML treatments.
During the session, members reflected on NLA’s work to date and the impact of the New London Agenda and The Built Environment Sector report. Discussion also focused on shaping a new London 2050 vision, exploring how the values set out in the New London Agenda can underpin the capital’s future success. Members were also updated on NLA’s upcoming Connected Capital report.
A brief fire alarm during the meeting saw members continue their discussion outside before returning to The London Centre to close the session, a small but telling example of the group’s commitment to maintaining dialogue on the issues shaping London’s future.
We are delighted to welcome the new members appointed under Sadie Morgan’s chairship and look forward to their contribution to this senior industry forum. We also extend our thanks to those members stepping down from the NLA Sounding Board for their insight, leadership and valued contribution to NLA’s work.
