Nicola Sheppey

As Head of Communications, Nicola is responsible for topline strategies and management of all communications outputs across the business, including the NLA programme of research, exhibition and events, the London Festival of Architecture (LFA), Don't Move, Improve!, The London Centre, Opportunity London, One City, and others.

Nicola joined NLA in 2018, primarily looking after One City and managing comms for The City Centre. She joined the wider NLA team in 2020 as Senior Marketing and Communications Manager with added focus on London Festival of Architecture (LFA), and moved to Head of Comms (initially maternity cover) in late 2021.

Prior to NLA Nicola worked in marketing & comms for international arts festivals, and spent four years on marketing, comms and events organisation within the med-tech industry.

Alongside her work Nicola is an avid fiction writer and was shortlisted for the 4th Estate 4thWrite Short Story Prize in 2021, in association with The Guardian. Her writing has been published in celebrated journals and she is working on her debut novel.
